Department of Social Services – Helping Children with Autism Package (HCWA)

 Amount 

 Eligibility and related information 

$74.80 rebated sessions for:

  -  Up to 4 diagnostic

      assessment sessions.

  -  Up to 20 therapy services.

Bills must be paid in full and then the receipt taken to Medicare for collection of the rebate.

Children between 0 – 13 years who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Autism, Asperger’s and Rhett’s Disorder) and have not previously accessed Better Start for Children with a Disability.

Requires a referral from a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.

Department of Social Services – Better Start for Children with Disability Initiative (BSI)

 Amount 

 Eligibility and related information 

Fully funded sessions up to a total of $6,000 per financial year ($2,100 of this budget may be used for the purchase of recommended resources).

Children aged 0 – 6 years who are not yet at school.

Have a diagnosis of any of the following disabilities:

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Deafblindness

  • Down syndrome, including mosaic Down syndrome

  • Fragile X syndrome with full mutation

  • Hearing impairment

  • Sight impairment

  • Prader-Willi syndrome

  • Williams syndrome

  • Angelman syndrome

  • Kabuki syndrome

  • Smith-Magenis syndrome

  • CHARGE syndrome

  • Cornelia de Lange syndrome

  • Rett's Disorder

  • Cri du Chat syndrome; or

  • Microcephaly

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

 Amount 

Funding depends on individual NDIS packages.

We are NDIS registered and can accept NDIS managed, agency managed and self-managed models.

Private Health Insurance

 Amount 

Up to $800 per year, depending on your Private Health provider.

Primary Care Plans

 Amount

$52.95 rebate per session (5 x sessions per calendar year).

Bills must be payed in full and then the receipt taken to Medicare for collection of the rebate.

Requires a referral from your child’s GP.

Additional Primary Care Plans for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent. (In addition to the Primary Care Plan listed above).

$52.95 rebate per session (5 x sessions per calendar year).

Bills must be paid d in full and then the receipt taken to Medicare for collection of the rebate.

Requires a referral from your child’s GP.

Must be from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent.
